Green Resolutions Sponsor Spotlight post ~Baby Bee Haven~

I'm pretty excited about the Green Resolutions Giveaway hop! :-) It's going to be fun! For all you readers out there who love green things you'll want to keep your eyes open for the giveaway (or should I say giveaways ;-) ) coming up January 16th! :-)

On Mama's Sew Sweet Baby blog our first sponsor is Baby Bee Haven! :-)

Baby Bee Haven sent me a diaper cover to review for the Green Resolutions giveaway hop!

Look at how sweetly wrapped it came!

I just love the colors she has to chose from! You should head over to her Baby Bee Haven shop and look at all the cute covers she has! Besides covers she also sells wipes, wet bags, and darling booties! :-)

Here is the cover I choose being worn by my darling little girl! I put two inserts in it because she was about to head down for a nap!

Since I took that picture she has worn it many times! I have gotten several comments about it when she wears it out. Everyone thinks it's simply the cutest diaper! :-) I happen to agree!

My Opinion: I love everything about this diaper cover! It keeps everything in perfectly and it is super easy to clean! :-) I have some diapers that I call my "nighttime diapers". Because they actually last the night! When I tried this one through the night I was so happy to find that I now have another "nighttime diaper"!! :-) I can stuff it with as many or as few inserts I need and it still fits wonderfully!

Buy it: If you would like to purchase your own Darling Diaper Cover visit Baby Bee Haven!

Win it: If you would like your chance to win a Baby Bee Haven Diaper Cover look for the Green Resolutions Giveaway hop starting January 16th where Baby Bee Haven will be giving away one (1) Diaper Cover to one of Mama's Sew Sweet Baby readers! :-)

Disclaimer: I was provided with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product. All opinions are 100% my own and may vary from yours.

Teething Bling Review and Giveaway

"We all know how much babies love to grab and chew. For that reason, most moms don’t wear jewelry when their children are young. We are changing that!

Teething Bling® is the original teething jewelry. Made from the same FDA-approved material as most teething toys, our pendants and bangles look great on the adult wearer but are safe for curious babies to handle and chew.
Our products are non-toxic, phthalate, BPA, PVC, latex and lead free and all pendants come with a breakaway clasp as an added safety measure."

My teething bling!
My Opinion: My daughter chews on EVERYTHING! I think that there are few babies out there that don't chew. For those of you with chewing babies Teething Bling makes pretty accessories for mama that are safe for baby! :-) I do like to wear jewelry and pretty things, but I don't want something important, or expensive getting broken. For the most part we have trained our daughter to 'not touch' some jewelry, but accidents do happen nonetheless. However when wearing a Teething Bling Necklace you don't have to worry about it! They can chew away to their hearts content! :-) And you can look fashionable in the meantime! ;-)

Buy it: Go to Teething Bling to purchase your own bling! :-)

Win it: Want your chance to win? Teething Bling is going to be giving away one (1) of Mama's Sew Sweet Baby readers their own Ring Pendant ! Enter through the rafflecopter form below (comments will not count as entries unless stated in the rafflecopter form):

Winnner!

Thank you to all who entered the Leading Lady Bra Giveaway! The giveaway ended with 470 valid entries!

The winner is:
#350 Shannon F.

Congratulations! I have sent you a e-mail to which you have 48 hours to respond before I must choose another winner.

Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey Review and Giveaway

From Tropical Traditions Website:

"A Raw Product from the Wilderness
Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey comes from the frontier areas of Canada, and is only harvested during a 6-week period in the summer. Tropical Traditions is the exclusive source of this premium organic honey in the U.S. Most commercial honeys available on the market today come from bee farms, where the bees are controlled within a certain area and get their pollen from usually only one kind of flower. Many of the plants that produce these flowers (clover, orange blossom, etc.) are grown with pesticides and fertilizers as well. In addition, almost all honeys on the market are pasteurized in high heat and filtered, removing many of the beneficial nutrients and enzymes.
Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey has not been subjected to the heat of processing, only warmed enough to flow (same temperatures the honey would see inside the hive). We select only premium honey that is pure, smooth and creamy, with the consistency of soft margarine at harvest. It contains live yeast and enzymes, because it has not been processed. It also contains pollen because it has not been filtered—merely screened.
Fine textured crystals are characteristic of totally pure, unheated, unprocessed, raw honey. Properly crystallized honey has a fine, smooth texture. Crystallized honey preserves natural goodness and doesn’t drip. The more rapidly honey crystallizes the finer the texture will be. It will also turn harder over time as it crystallizes. Truly raw honeys do not deteriorate with age, but like fine wines, continue to age and develop into more complex tastes."

My opinion:
I have been falling in love with all of Tropical Traditions products! I have not disliked anything I've tried from them so far! But I must say that I think that their Honey is by far my favorite product from them, not to mention my favorite honey ever!

I am a HUGE honey eater! It's my favorite sweetener. I use it in canning (instead of sugar), I use it to sweeten my hot cereal for breakfast, I use it in desserts, tea, and much more! When I receive my honey from Tropical Traditions I was pretty excited to try it. I tasted it with a spoon and it was seriously amazing! It was so good I had to share it with my family! My mom and sisters loved it too! In fact my mom loved it so much she is planning on making an order to get some!

If you get a chance you should order some! I don't think you would be disappointed! Especially if you are as much of a honey eater as I! ;-)

Buy it: The 17.6 oz. glass jar is on sale right now for $12.99

~FuzziBunz~ Sponsor Spotlight Post

The other sponsor for the Christmas Letdown Giveaway hop is FuzziBunz!

"FuzziBunz® diapers have ADJUSTABLE WAIST AND LEG SETTINGS so you get a customized fit each and every time. In other words, if your baby has a slim waist and chubby legs, FuzziBunz® diapers will still fit your baby comfortably and snugly."

"FuzziBunz® are made with BOUNCY AND STRETCHY ELASTIC around the legs to ensure maximum comfort for your baby without leaving marks on your baby's skin."

"FuzziBunz® diapers are EASY TO STUFF AND UN-STUFF. Our patented pocket design enables moms and dads to stuff the diaper with a micro-terry insert or other absorbent materials and then also easily shake out the insert into the diaper pail. No folds over the pocket or other pocket variations from the original design forcing you to touch the inside of the dirty diaper, ick!"

"FuzziBunz® remain the TRIMMEST FITTING DIAPER on the market today and its fit is most similar to disposable diapers, but without the guilt or waste associated with disposables. Our diapers are sized perfectly to hug your baby's curves and move with your baby's motions, ensuring a comfortable and happy baby always!"

"Meet the Elite: One Diaper—Birth to Potty Training!

If you thought the FuzziBunz® One Size cloth diaper could not get any better—think again! FuzziBunz® has re-engineered its already popular One Size to be trimmer fitting, more comfortable, faster drying and easier to adjust than before! Best yet, all these features come at the same low price as the original One Size FuzziBunz® diapers! The FuzziBunz® One Size Elite collection gives you even more bang for your buck, including these features:
  • Quick Dry Fleece: Baby feels dryer longer and fleece stays nicer longer with less visible wear
  • Easy-Replace Elastic Has Moved: The adjustable elastic's buttons are now found inside the pocket so there are no buttons next to baby’s skin
  • New Minky Inserts: Each diaper comes with two Minky Inserts (small and medium/large) adding the following benefits:
    • Less odor than microfiber
    • Less staining
    • Trimmer fitting diaper with same amount of absorbency
  • Streamlined front panel and snap design provides better fit with less leaking"

I simply LOVE my FuzziBunz one sized elite diaper! It is one of my favorites now! :-) But what's not to love about this super trim, easy to clean, adjusts perfectly to baby, adorable diaper?!

I love the soft Minky inserts that came with my adorable, Watermelon One Size Elite Diaper! (You should seriously check out their amazing selection of colors!) I was actually caught, by my husband, rubbing it next to my check. He asked me what I was doing. I laughed and said "it's really soft". He just smiled... He was probably wondering why anyone would want to rub a diaper on their face? ;-) But seriously they are that soft! FuzziBunz even have Organic inserts now that I really want to try!! :-)

The adjustable elastic around the waist and thighs allows for the perfect fit no matter how your darling is shaped! I was surprised at how easy it is to fit the diaper to your baby too!

Buy it: If you would like to purchase your own Elite One Sized diaper visit FuzziBunz!

Win it: If you would like your chance to win a FuzziBunz Elite One Sized diaper look for the Christmas Letdown Giveaway hop starting December 26 where FuzziBunz will be giving away one (1) Elite One Sized Diaper to one of Mama's Sew Sweet Baby readers! :-)

~GoGreen Diapers~ Sponsor Spotlight Post

One of the sponsors for the Christmas Letdown Giveaway hop is GoGreen Diapers!

A few things about GoGreen Champ diapers (from their website):

Champ diapers fit newborn-45+ lbs.

GoGreen diapers is a WAHM-operated busines located in beautiful Boulder, CO. Champ® and silky/fuzzy diapers are fairly made in China. Mud Butt for GoGreen diapers are made by WAHMs in the USA.

Every diaper comes with one insert.

The exterior of our diapers is made of a 100% polyester knit or microvelour with a thin, flexible water-proof polyurethane laminate on the inside (PUL). This hidden waterproof film keeps moisture from leaking out, yet still allows air flow to your baby's skin, and allows the fabric to feel nice and soft on the outside. Inside, our diapers are lined with soft suedecloth or fleece, which is gentle against your baby's skin and feels dry since moisture is pulled through into the pocket by the microfiber inserts. Each diaper comes with a super-absorbant insert that is made from 3 layers of microfiber terry-cloth.

I was sent a Lime Champ to try out for this event!

I love cloth diapers! Especially pocket diapers! I love to be able to just pull out the insert and spray clean! Makes for a much faster clean up! ;-) Something really nice about the GoGreen champ is they add a snap to the insert so that you can snap it right into the diaper and you don't have to worry about the insert sliding around. They also added openings at both ends so you're able to adjust the insert inside much easier! The only downfall I see to having an opening at both ends is there is a possibility that you could easily spray some nasties into the inside. So you have to watch to make sure that you don't do that!

GoGreen Diapers also included a Black Adapt-a-Snap with my diaper! This handy dandy system converts the snap champ to a hook and loop champ! :-) I haven't tried to many hook and loop diapers that I've actually liked. So this was a great experiment for me! I found it very convenient and useful. Especially for those times when your baby isn't quiet ready to go up another snap, but is getting to big for the last snap!

Buy it: If you would like to purchase your own Champ visit GoGreen Diapers!

Win it: If you would like your chance to win a GoGreen Champ diaper look for the Christmas Letdown Giveaway hop starting December 26, where GoGreen Diapers is going to giveaway one (1) champ to one of Mama's Sew Sweet Baby readers! :-)

Leading Lady review and giveaway

Warning: Links in this post do go to a site with ladies dressed in bras.

Leading Lady is a premiere intimate apparel company that has been dedicated to creating comfortably functional, remarkably affordable, stylish and easy-to-wear bras, camis and sleepwear since 1939. Leading Lady has been expertly tailoring nursing and full figure bras for top brands and retailers across North America for more than 70 years. Now, Leading Lady’s comprehensive line of nursing and full figure intimates – including stretch lace wire-free and underwire bras, supportive and seamless sport and yoga bras, and cozy sleep and leisure bras – can be purchased directly on LeadingLady.com.

My Opinion: As a nursing mama I had a really hard time finding bras that fit. Let alone a nursing bra that fit. Did you know that 7 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong sized bra? I must of been one of those 7. Thanks to Leading Lady and their find your fit tool I'm pretty sure I never have to worry about wearing the wrong size again! :-) Besides having found the right size, I have found their bras to be quit comfortable and pretty! They actually have Nursing bras with lace! :-) Which seams to be hard to come by.

Buy it: Visit Leading Lady if you would like to purchase your own nursing bra from them!

Win it: One (1) of Mama's Sew Sweet Baby readers are going to win a promotional code redeemable for one (1) free item, plus free shipping! :-) Just enter using the rafflecopter form below!

~Adventures in cloth wipes~

When I first started cloth diapering I followed a 'recipe' I found on another cloth mama's blog (can't remember who's) on making my wipe solution. I then starting changing it to my liking. What I have now is a completely different solution then before. But so far I'm loving it! My 'recipe' is as follows:

1 Quart water
2 T baby wash or shampoo (I like to use Burt's Bees)
2 T baby lotion (again Burt's Bees is a favorite)
2 T Coconut Oil (I use Tropical Traditions)

Put all ingredients into a pan on medium heat and stir till everything is melted and mixed together (doesn't have to get that hot).
(Warning: Be sure the solution has time to cool before wiping baby! ;-) )

You can add some tea tree essential oil to keep mildew down if you are worried about that, but I only make up enough wipes to last me a week or so. I haven't ever had any mildew problems.

I tried several different ways of wetting the wipes:

~I tried having a container that I could dip the wipe in and then wring out a bit, I did this as I went.

~I tried having a little squirt bottle and squirting the needed amount on the wipe, again this is a method I did as I went.

~and I tried putting the wipes in a 'pampers' like wipe container and pouring the solution on a bunch of wipes, in advance.

So far the last method is by far my FAVORITE! It's quick, easy, and mess free! The others tended to get messy at times! Like when you have a squirming baby who wants to grab the open bottle/container of solution! ;-)

What recipes for solutions have you tried? I'm ALWAYS open to trying new ones! :D

What about your method of getting the wipe wet? What have you tried with that?

Have you ever gotten mold on your wipes?? Very curious about how long the solution lasts on the wipes.

Potty Training

On her birthday!

I really can't believe we are starting to potty train now. She just seams so small still. But nonetheless we are becoming a big girl more and more. It's time!

I really don't know where to begin with this. How do I introduce her to the 'toilet'? Anyone got any first time advice for me?

So far I haven't got a 'baby toilet' yet. So I've just sat her on the big one and she cried at me (she was crabby that day, probably not the best day to start something new). A baby toilet would probably help too, as would training pants (maybe?). What products have you found to be useful?

I've heard several different methods for starting out:

~My mom used to just take us in the bathroom with her when she went and asked us if we wanted to be big girls and sit down on the potty too.

~I've heard that some people put them on the potty and then give them a treat if they go.

What method have you used that worked? I would love to hear about your experience!
